Material

What Is 250 kg/m³ Calcium Silicate Board?

A rigid, lightweight insulation board based on xonotlite calcium silicate. It combines very low density with low thermal conductivity, making it ideal for back-up insulation and energy-saving linings.

  • Xonotlite crystalline structure — stable at high temperature
  • Lightweight at 250 kg/m³ (15.6 lb/ft³) — easy to handle and install
  • Non-asbestos, A1 non-combustible
  • Purpose-built for industrial thermal insulation

vs Ceramic Fiber: a hard, dimensionally stable board with no loose fibres or shot — cleaner to handle and machine than fiber blanket.
vs 300 kg/m³: lighter and more insulating; choose 300 when you need a little more strength and a higher 1100°C rating.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 250 kg/m³ calcium silicate board asbestos free?
Yes. It is a non-asbestos, inorganic material classified A1 non-combustible.
Can it be cut and machined?
Yes. It is easily cut with standard tools and can be CNC-machined into custom shapes.
What is the maximum service temperature?
The 250 kg/m³ grade is rated up to 1050°C (1922°F).
How is it different from ceramic fiber?
Calcium silicate board is a rigid, dimensionally stable board with a hard surface and no loose fibres or shot, unlike soft ceramic fiber blanket — easier to handle, machine and mount. Ceramic fiber reaches higher peak temperatures but is not rigid.
What export packaging do you provide?
Boards are film-wrapped, edge-protected and loaded on pallets or in export crates for safe international shipping.
What thicknesses are available?
Standard thickness is 20–100 mm (0.8–3.9 in) — the lower-density 250 grade starts at 20 mm — with custom thickness and sizes on request.
What is the thermal conductivity?
From about 0.062 W/m·K (0.43 BTU·in/hr·ft²·°F) at low mean temperature, and about 0.165 W/m·K (1.14 BTU·in/hr·ft²·°F) at 800°C.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ is flexible and typically starts at a single pallet; contact sales for project and OEM quantities.
